The ALR Business VEISA 386/33 is a nice 386 desktop. The previous owner even installed a CF adapter.

Quirks

  • There is a packaged riser card tucked away at the edge of the inside of the case. It appears to provide eight more memory module slots. There is a note on it from the previous owner that reads, "Card Prevents RAM test/Boot."
  • The original hard disk is still mounted in its original location, but it has long been disconnected in favor of the CF-to-IDE adapter.
  • Sometimes a "Configuration error for slot 16" message appears during boot, but it seems like there are no ill effects.

History

  • 2023-09-09: The computer is won at the VCF Midwest auction.
  • 2023-09-10: The computer is temporarily transported back to my parents' place.
  • 2023-09-27: The computer is transported to the new home.
