Quickest stable file transfer speeds

If hardware handshaking is not available, enable XON/XOFF. If you are getting errors at or below these speeds, make sure File Sharing is disabled.

Machine bps Can hardware handshake?
Macintosh Classic 57600 No
Power Macintosh 5300c 115200 Yes

Notes

  • If you run an incomplete System Software installation by copying the System Folder from a Disk Tools diskette to the hard disk, ZTerm will blow up upon launch before the main window appears.
  • It loads on Copland, but it can't find any serial ports.
