Shockwave Player gets more difficult to install by the day.
Downloading it
Adobe stopped hosting downloads for Shockwave Player after it became end-of-life. This also includes the components that get downloaded on first run. The "Full" installers still try to download these components. To get an actually full installer for Shockwave, source an MSI-based installer, such as the ones from this location: https://archive.org/details/ShockwaveInstallers
Running it
- If you are using Internet Explorer, disable Enhanced Security Mode.
- If you are using Mozilla Firefox, run version 52.9.0esr.
- If a box covers a quarter of the screen, or if any other weird graphical issues occur with Shockwave content, switch to 11.6.8.638 (Full), which is a known-good version. This has been known to fix issues on some Shockwave games on Neopets.
