This page describes oddities with print screen in Windows 3.1 (and related systems).
Capturing the whole desktop
Don't just naïvely do the Print Screen -> Paintbrush -> Paste -> Save combination; Paintbrush will only paste into the currently viewed bounds of the image. Instead, do this:
- Press Print Screen
- Open Paintbrush
- Select Options -> Image Attributes...
- Set Units to pels
- Set Width and Height to your screen resolution
- Press OK
- Select View -> Zoom Out
- Paste
Now verify that you have the whole desktop in your image.
