The Dell Latitude CPi D300XT is quite similar to the earlier Dell Latitude CP and shares much of the same hardware.
Specs
- CPU
- 300 MHz Intel Pentium II
- RAM
- 128 MiB
- Display
- 1024x768
- PCMCIA
- Two slots
- Expansion Bay
- Supports a 3.5" floppy disk drive and a CD-ROM drive
- Battery
- It not only works -- it lasts for hours
Quirks
- I believe a stock installation of Windows 95 on floppies doesn't detect the PCMCIA controller, but I could be misremembering.
- The modules and adapters from the Dell Latitude CP are compatible.
History
- 2021-03-11: I acquire the computer from Roswell and Marcie. They throw in a PS/2 keyboard because the internal keyboard is oftentimes unresponsive or gets stuck.
- 2021-03-11: The computer is transported to my apartment.
- 2021-05-10: The external keyboard works great until the broken internal keyboard turns evil. It becomes nigh impossible to the use computer.
- 2021-05-19: A cheap spare parts Dell Latitude CPi arrives at my apartment from an eBay seller.
- 2021-05-19: 📈 The keyboard from the spare parts machine is transplanted into the machine I got from Roswell and Marcie. Everything is now perfect.
- 2023-07-26: The computer is temporarily transported back to my parents' place.
- 2023-09-18: The computer is transported to the new home.
- 2023-09-23: ⚠️ A bad crack has developed in one hinge.
